
Mo Saffarini MEng, MBA, FRSM
President & Co-founder
Mo earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath (UK), where he specialised in biomechanics and biomaterials. After a few years of experience in R&D of orthopaedic implants at Stryker and Tornier, he completed his MBA at Imperial College London (UK), and thereafter led various research teams at the Qatar Foundation and at Phonak Acoustic Implants. Having published numerous studies on implant design, Mo started consulting surgeons and implant manufacturers on the design and publication of their research in 2012, and with growing success and demand, founded ReSurg in 2017.
Edouard Dejour PharmD, MSc
General director & Co-founder
Edouard earned his Doctorate in Pharmacy at Université Claude Bernard in Lyon (France) and worked in a gene therapy startup on pharmaceutical development and regulatory affairs. He then obtained a Master's degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at EM Lyon business school (France), which he completed with an experience as a venture capital analyst. Passionate about innovation in the field of healthcare and medical research, Edouard joined ReSurg as a deputy to its founder to support the research team and oversee company administration and business development.
Johanne Beuvelot
MEng, PhD
Clinical Affairs Director
Johanne obtained her Master’s degree in Biomaterials from the University of Evry (France), and completed her PhD at the University of Angers, specialising in biomaterials for orthopaedics. For 10 years, she has worked as Project Manager and Head of Research in both private and public institutions. She has developed skills in medical writing and regulatory affairs, as well as in several medical or surgical fields such as oncology, orthopaedics, urology and cardiology. She joined ProSurg as Clinical Affairs Director in 2023.
Margaux Hénoff MSc
Junior Clinical Research Associate
Margaux obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Trials, Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse. During her studies, she has gained experience as clinical research associate through some interships. She worked at Niort Hospital and then at Toulouse Hospital where she specialised in medical devices thanks to her work in the radiology and neuroradiology departments.
Bertrand Claizergues MEng, MSc
Marketing & Sales Director
Bertrand earned his degree in biomaterial engineering from Polytech Lyon (France). He then obtained a Master's degree in Management of technology and innovation from EM Lyon business school (France). With 15 years of experience in the business of medical devices, as an Engineer and Marketing Manager in various orthopaedic companies, he is passionate by medical innovations.
Aude Hibon MEng
Co-founder & Senior Project Coordinator
Aude (née Méhats) earned her Master’s of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Bordeaux (France), where she specialised in biomechanics and biomaterials. For six years, she worked as R&D project manager at Stryker Corporation, where she developed several innovative orthopaedic implants and instruments with designer surgeons, published on implant design, and patented novel solutions for surgical instruments.
Sonia Ramos Pascual MEng, PhD
Co-founder
Sonia obtained her Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College London (UK), and completed her PhD at the University of Bath (UK) specialising in spinal biomechanics. Throughout her doctoral studies she has been involved in multiple projects with orthopaedic surgeons and companies, aimed at improving treatments for healthcare.
Floris Van Rooij MSc
Co-founder
Floris completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in Budapest, and then moved to Belgium to earn a Master’s degree from the KU Leuven in Rehabilitation Sciences with a focus on research. With a rich knowledge in anatomy and research, Floris enjoys working on the latest scientific ideas, investigations and studies and is thrilled to be a part of ProSurg.
Jacobus Hendrik Müller MSc, PhD
Co-founder
Jacobus received his training in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. After obtaining his PhD in 2010, he became a member of faculty in Mechanical Engineering at Stellenbosch University. He supervised a number of postgraduate students in Biomedical Engineering, and also collaborated with clinicians and industry partners in the field of biomechanics, both locally and abroad.
